George Thomas Sears, 90, a resident of Chesapeake, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 14, 2004. He was a native of Accomack County, Eastern Shore, and was born to the late Addie and Willie Sears. He was the husband of the late Ophelia E. (Walton) Sears of Suffolk.

He leaves to cherish his memory four daughters, the Rev. Brenda Sears Boone, Amelia Sears Simmons, Carrie Eason Howard, and Nawatha Williams; one daughter-in-law, Annie Mae Eason; and one son-in-law, Fred C. Williams Sr.

He was preceded in death by one son, Harrison Eason; one daughter, Jean Wright; and two sisters, Rosa Sample and Willie Williams.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Rose of Sharon United Holy Church of America. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
