John Bradley

Mr. John Bradley, 79, of 722 Kilby Ave., Suffolk, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, in Autumn Care of Suffolk. Born the second child and second son of six children to the late Leroy and Susie Tucker Bradley, he was a native of Suffolk and educated in its public schools. He served his country in the U.S. Army. As a young adult he married Elnora Joe Brown, and to this union were born three children and they have two step-children.

He was employed by the Naval Air Station (NARF) Norfolk and retired after more than 30 years of dedicated service.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Elnora Joe Bradley, two sons, Willie Joe Brown Sr. and Dexter L. Bradley; daughter, Juanita Brown; grandson, Carlos Markell Brown; sister, Margaret Woodley; brothers, Leroy Bradley Jr. and Jessie Bradley Sr.

Remaining to rejoice in his memory are a daughter, Mrs. Denise B. Washington, and husband, Paul M. Washington Jr., of Washington, D.C.; one son, Guy V. Bradley of Suffolk; one devoted sister, Leola Eley of Hampton; one devoted brother, Clyde Bradley Sr., and his wife, Julia; two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Rumell P. Brown and Mrs. Linda Bradley; one brother-in-law, Joe Mazell of Atlanta, Ga.; one devoted granddaughter, Lisa Brown Scott, and her husband, John; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. June 21, in Crocker Funeral Home Chapel. The eulogy will be given by the Rev. Jarvis A. Jones. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
