Treva Nickelson to Larry Stokes

Mrs. Jacqueline Nickelson and Mr. James Nickelson Jr., both of Suffolk, announce the engagement of their daughter, Treva Annette Nickelson, also of Suffolk, to Larry Bernard Stokes II of Zuni.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry B. Stokes, also of Zuni.

Miss Nickelson is the maternal granddaughter of the late Mrs. Mable E. Tyler and Mr. Joseph E. Jordan, and paternal granddaughter of Frances Nickelson.

Mr. Stokes is the maternal grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Liggins Sr., and the paternal grandson of Mrs. Daisey E. Stokes, and the late Mr. Alton Stokes.

Miss Nickelson is a graduate of Nansemond River High School. She earned an A.A.S. degree in computer science from ECPI, and is enrolled as a criminal justice major at Tidewater Community College.

She works for the Suffolk Police Department.

Mr. Stokes is a graduate of Windsor High School and Norfolk State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in management information systems.

He works for Neighborhood Development Services for the City of Suffolk.

The wedding will take place Aug. 28 in Metropolitan Baptist Church, and conducted by the Rev. James T. Elam Sr.

Mrs. Linda Stokes and Mrs. Lavonne Williams will be the wedding coordinators.
