Twins ‘fly’ with eagles

Fraternal twins Robert Alden Fly and William Newton Fly achieved the rank of Eagle Scout at Courts of Honor held recently at Oakland Christian Church.

Robert was awarded his Eagle Scout in February and William was awarded his Eagle Scout Award in May.

They started scouting at age 6 as Tiger Cubs in Pack 25 in Chuckatuck and moved up through Troop 25 in Chuckatuck where they continue to be active members.

For his Eagle Scout project, Robert coordinated the building and placement of bluebird houses for the bluebird habitat. These houses were placed in the Lone Star Lakes Park and along the wood’s edge at Oakland Christian Church.

For his project, William coordinated the building and placement of eight new picnic tables to be placed in the Lone Star Lakes Park.

They are sons of Mr. and Mrs. George Fly of Suffolk and are rising ninth grade students at Kings Fork High School.

They are also active members of Oakland Christian Church and Messengers of Faith Youth group.
