Minnie T. Moody

Minnie T. Moody, daughter of the late Chester and Martha Ford Tate, was born on July 13, 1913 in Nansemond County. She departed this life Sunday, June 20, 2004, in Nansemond Pointe Healthcare Facility. She was a longtime resident of Suffolk.

She was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church where she served as a member of the Mitchell Memorial Sunday School, Nurses’ Club and was a sister of the House of Ruth Order of Tents. She had retired from Planter Peanuts after 40-plus years of service.

Mrs. Minnie was preceded in death by her husband James W. Moody.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Joyce Arnold (Fred, Jr.) of Tampa, Fla; two nieces, Addie Wilson and Sarah Hardy, two nephews, Louis Jones (Corrine) and James Edmonds; three devoted friends, Helena Goodman, Anne Staton and Margaret B. Rodgers; cousins and other relatives and friends.

The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 25 in Carver Memorial Park on East Washington Street in Suffolk.

Viewing takes place from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 24 in T.E. Cooke-Overton FH Chapel
