Polly Mae Brockington, 99, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 20, 2004. She was born on March 3, 1905, in Varnville, S.C. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Brockington Sr.

She was a faithful member of Metropolitan Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She served as a member of the Deaconess Ministry, Polly Armstrong Missionary Circle, Ladies Bible Class, and Sunday School.

She is survived by three children, George Brockington (Margaret) of Washington, D.C.; Wilether Barker of Chesapeake; and Willie Brockington Jr. (Cynthia) of Suffolk; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren: nieces, nephews, and many friends.

The funeral will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday in Metropolitan Baptist Church by Dr. Robert L. Hobbs. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the residence of Willie and Cynthia Brockington, 3322 Nansemond River Drive.
