Moviegoers in Suffolk will catch more than the latest blockbusters this weekend.

Patrons at Harbour View Grande 16 will also get a lesson on Suffolk’s Exile Program. Modeled after a federal program started in Richmond and endorsed by both the National Rifle Association and Virginians Against Handgun Violence, the program works to remove illegal guns from the streets by breaking the link between guns and drugs, felons, schools and other crimes.

Representatives from Suffolk’s Commonwealth’s Attorney C. Phillips Ferguson’s office will be at the theater from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday. They will be available to answer any questions and will be distributing Suffolk Exile brochures, pencils, flyswatters and other public-awareness materials.

Ferguson’s Exile motto is clear, concise and easily understood: &uot;It’s Simple…You Do the Math!&uot; Gun + School = 5 Years in Prison, Gun + Drugs = 2 to 5 Years in Prison, and Gun + Felon = 2 to 5 Years in Prison.

For criminals carrying guns, the consequences have been swift, certain, and severe.
