Murder/robbery trial to continue this morning

A robbery/murder trial enters its third day today in Suffolk Circuit Court, involving the death of an elderly resident in 2001.

The victim, Linwood Williams, was found dead on the sofa in his home at 328 Goodman St., Lt. Debbie J. George, the first witness for the prosecution, testified Wednesday. She added that Williams had a laceration to the head.

&uot;Emergency communications received a call about a break-in at the house,&uot; said George. &uot;The caller told 911 that he thought the victim may be dead.&uot;

Thomas Lee Johnson, a local man, was charged with the killing and robbery of the victim.

A long line of witnesses is expected as the trial progresses at least through Friday.
