Mary Mullis Sexton, 85, of 125 Ridge Crest Dr., Suffolk, died on July 22, 2004. She was a native of Union Co., NC. She was the widow of Glenn Thomas Sexton and the daughter of the late Henry Bunyon Mullis and Annie Pearl Godfrey Mullis. She is also predeceased by two daughters Sonya Dilley and Loretta Fortin; and her first husband Roy Lee Kelly.

She was a member of West End Baptist Church and the Red Hat Society. Mrs. Sexton retired as a LPN with Dr. Leonard L. Davis, MD.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Lowell Butt of Yale; nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Brothers and sisters-in-law: Rudolph and Oberia Mullis of Sanford, NC., and Donald Mullis of Chapel Hill, NC.

The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, July 24 at 11 a.m. at the Sidney F. Harrell Chapel of Harrell & Hill Funeral Home. Interment is at the Greenlawn Cemetery, Portsm-outh. Rev. T. Floyd Irby Jr. is officiating.

Friends may join the family on Friday from 7-8 p.m. at the Harrell & Hill Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Memorials may be made to the West End Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 501W. Washington St., Suffolk. Harrell & Hill Funeral Home is serving the family.
