A temporary lane closure on Route 460 from Lake Prince Drive in Suffolk to the Suffolk City Line will be extended through today to ensure motorist safety through the construction area.

The closure is approximately two miles. Motorists are advised they may experience minor delays.

Crews were installing safety improvements on Monday, including rumble strips and new pavement markings down the center of the roadway when they were interrupted by rain.

To ensure motorist safety in the absence of a double yellow line to divide traffic, VDOT will maintain the lane closure throughout tomorrow.

VDOT is working with local contractors to monitor the closure overnight to ensure safe conditions and will work to reopen the road as quickly as possible.
