Yesterday, Friday, Aug. 6, I visited the Cypress Pool and talked with several people over there.

This pool, as I remember, was built with taxpayer money and cost about $350,000. It is a beautiful pool.

The citizens of Suffolk should be allowed to swim free. There is a sign that says chidren 50 cents and adults $1. Why should we pay to use our pool? We should not. I would like to recommend the fees be lifted for the remainder of this season and eliminated in future years.

Today, Saturday, Aug. 8, I visited lone Star Lakes and was charged $2 to enter the park we taxpayers own. Paying taxes for 35 years should allow fellow citizens like myself into our park free.

The dozen or so people out there today will not pay for the city employee. Parks and Recreation receives $2.2 million. Why must we pay twice?
