Beatrice &uot;Bee&uot; Hill of 414 Hollywood Avenue, formerly of Pughsville, departed this life on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004. Bee was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church where she served on the Senior Usher Board and a member of the Sunday school. Bee is predeceased by her husband Jehu Hill.

She is survived by her two sons, Roy Copeland (Marie) of Suffolk and Jehu Hill Jr. of Portsmouth; two stepdaughters, Brenda Hill of Chesapeake and Sherry Hill of Virginia Beach; one sister, Geraldine Slaughter of Suffolk; one uncle, Lewis Ruffin (Doris) of Portsmouth; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and six godchildren and a host of other relatives, friends and church members.

The family will receive friends at the home of Roy Copeland, 3924 Pughsville Road, in Suffolk. The family will assemble at the Harris Funeral Home, 685 Carolina Road at 2 p.m., Wednesday for the funeral procession.

Viewing will begin at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004 at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 125 County Street in Suffolk. Interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Dill Road in Suffolk.
