Ruby Mae Johnson

Mrs. Ruby Mae Johnson, 85, of 131 South 6th Street, Suffolk, died Sept. 2, 2004 in Obici Hospital.
She was a native of Ahoskie, N.C. She was the widow of the late Joseph Lee Johnson, Sr. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Henry Brown and Mittie Jenkins Brown. She was a member of Antioch United Church of Christ – Suffolk, Va.
She retired from Lummis Peanut Company.
Her survivors include: a daughter, Ruby E. Evans of Suffolk; five sons, Henry Johnson of Suffolk, Wilmer T. Johnson, Newark, N.J.; William T. Johnson, Orange, N.J.; James S. Johnson (Brenda), of Suffolk, and Jeffery N. Johnson of Newport News; three sisters, Roxie Walters of Suffolk, Ophelia McRay of Suffolk and Jeanette Jenkins (Alton) of Ahoskie, N.C.; two brothers, James Brown of Hampton, Clarence Marshall (Kitty) of Hampton; 21 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; three great great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004, at 1 p.m. at Antioch United Church of Christ by the Rev. Jarvis Jones. Interment will be held in Little Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Suffolk.
Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, is in charge of arrangements.
