Staff report

It’s time for the last full weekend of Suffolk high school football…

Nansemond River vs. West-ern Branch, 7 p.m. A tough way to end a season for the Warriors. If they can just give the Bruins a good fight, it’ll be a moral victory.

Lakeland vs. Deep Creek, 7 p.m. The Cavaliers have some momentum after last week’s whomping of Norcom, but the Hornets are among the district’s best, so they’ll be anxious to squelch the drive.

King’s Fork at Indian River, 7 p.m. Just as usual, the most important thing is that no Bulldogs get hurt. After their battle with Lakeland next weekend, they’ve got plenty of time to prepare for their sophomore season.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy vs. Blue Ridge, 6 p.m. The Saints are on a roll after two quick wins, and it needs to be kicked up a notch or three if they want to make the playoffs, a run that was ended last year after a lethargic showing against Ridge.
