Jerome Massenburg, 45, of the 100 block of South Tenth Street, died Dec. 11, 2004 at his residence. He was a native of Suffolk.

He was a 1978 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and was formerly employed at Tidewater Occupational Center in Suffolk.

He is survived by his parents, Grady Massenburg, Jr., and Ethel Harrell Massenburg; a sister, Sharlene Massenburg (Ray-mond) of Suffolk; one brother, Grady Massenburg III, of Suffolk; three nieces, Sharyl Stevenson, Shequita Stevenson, Kiara Goodman; several aunts and uncles including, Susie Bennett (Leroy), Mary Dickens, and Bernice Dickens (Earnest) of Staunton, Paulette Thorogood, Larry Massenburg, and Thomas Massenburg, all of Suffolk, a devoted friend, Josephine Bolling of Suffolk and several cousins.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004 at 1 p.m. in Crocker Funeral Home by Bishop Madison G. Copeland.

Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
