Lady Bulldogs can’t bite in 79-46 loss

The King’s Fork girls’ basketball team was unable to stop visiting Wilson as the trio of Shela White, Danielle Brown, and Joniquia Guilford combined for all but 12 points of their side’s offense in Wilson’s 79-46 victory Wednesday night.
Taking the floor for their third consecutive evening, the Lady Bulldogs were tied at 10 with about three minutes left in the opening period.
Wilson switched to a 1-3-1 full court press, and the trapping press disrupted the Lady Bulldogs as Wilson was able to get off 40 more field goal attempts than King’s Fork and force the Lady Bulldogs into 27 turnovers.
A Sharde Brown three-pointer with eight seconds left in the opening quarter, directly off an inbounds play from under the basket, made the score 22-15 Wilson at the end of the quarter.
Brown would go on to lead the Lady Bulldogs on the night with 17 points.
Wilson (6-0) pulled comfortably ahead in the second quarter, as the Lady Presidents rolled up 32 points in an eight-minute.
The Wilson scoring binge led to a 44-21 lead at the half.
On the King’s Fork (3-6, 1-4) side, in addition to Brown’s 17, Latora King chipped in with nine points and passed three assists.
Brittany Holloway led the Lady Bulldogs
in rebounds with six.
