Robert D. Sutton

Robert Dalvin Sutton, 80, died Jan. 8, 2005. He retired as a self-employed carpenter. He was a native of Goldsboro, N.C.

Mr. Sutton was the son of the late Deannie H. and Ezekiel Sutton. He was also a World War II U. S. Army Veteran and attended Suffolk Christian Church.

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Sue E. and Donald G. Bracy of Suffolk, Grace E. and R. Leon Allison of Portsmouth, Judy F. Crawford and fiance, Mark Kalgren of Falls Creek, Penn., and Betty J. Griffin of Suffolk; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert A. Sutton and Lisa Salanga of Outer Banks, N.C.; Thomas E. and Bonnie B. Sutton of Portsmouth, and William R. Sutton Sr., of Suffolk; his sisters, Verda M. Kelly, Minnie S. Clary, and Lola M. Rayome; and a brother, Everett &uot;Bill&uot; Sutton; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005 at Suffolk Christian Church. Interment was in Olive Branch Cemetery with Military Honors. The Rev. Michael D. Halley officiated. Visitation was held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Parr Funeral Home.

Friends may join the family at other times at the residence of Sue and Donald Bracy at 101 Winterview Drive, Suffolk.
