Ruby Outland Turner

Ruby Outland Turner, 98, passed away on March 5, 2005, in Waverly Healthcare Center. She was a former resident of the 200 block of Nansemond Avenue.
A native of Isle of Wight County, she was the daughter of the late Junious Leroy and Ruth Wright Outland and the widow of Letcher Lewis Turner. She was also predeceased by a niece, Clarice B. Copper, and a nephew, Carlton Outland Jr.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, North Main Street, Suffolk, the Golden Age Sunday School Class, the Adult Seven Sunday School Department, the Adult Choir and the Senior Citizens Club. She was a 50-year member of Sinia Chapter 18 the Order of the Eastern Star, the Suffolk Woman’s Club, and a member of the Suffolk chapter of AARP.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Fay O. and Roy H. Smith of Disputanta; nephews, Hurley Babb of Chesapeake and J. L. Babb Jr. of Windsor; and nieces, Joyce Bradt of Waynesboro, Evelyn Babb Hitchings of Shakopee, Minn., and Margaret E. Spivey of Windsor.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the Sidney F. Harrell Chapel of Harrell & Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles Thompson with Eastern Star Rites.
Burial will be in Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery.
Friends may join the family two hours prior to the service for a visitation.
