‘Concerts at the Point’

The 2005 season for Norfolk Festevents swings into high gear in May at Town Point Park on the downtown Norfolk waterfront with &uot;Concerts at the Point&uot; every Friday evening. Other highlights at Town Point Park this May will be Cinco de Mayo, the Virginia Beer Festival and AFR’AM Fest plus visits by international tall ships.

26-year-old singer, songwriter, pianist, and guitarist Gavin DeGraw, whose effortlessly intimate, emotionally intense live performances have made him the toast of the downtown Manhattan music scene, will perform such moving original songs as &uot;I Don’t Wanna Be,&uot; the theme song from One Tree Hill, and the title track from his latest album, &uot;Chariot.&uot; DeGraw will feature special guest, Michael Tolcher. -May 13, The Richmond-based band Carbon Leaf will headline this particular Friday night. After winning the first ever Coca-Cola New Music Award in 2001, the eclectic sounds of this band have rocked the national airwaves with hits like &uot;Life Less Ordinary&uot; and &uot;What About Everything.&uot;
