Mr. Haywood McCoy Madison Sr., 72, of 608 Brook Ave., Suffolk, died April 8, 2005 in Obici Hospital. He was a native of Nansemond County. He was the son of the late Earlene Brown Madison and Aaron Morris. He retired as a construction worker. He was a member of Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the senior usher board.

His survivors include wife, Mable L. Madison, Suffolk; five daughters, Dorothy Perry, Patricia Moore and Joyce Madison, all of Suffolk; Evelyn Porter (Richard), Sunbury, N.C., Sondra Madison, Lynchburg. One daughter, Sheila Madison, preceded him in death; a son, Haywood Madison Jr., Suffolk; two goddaughters, Delana Dantigance and Regina Copeland (Michael), Suffolk; four sisters, Apostle Deborah Copeland (Vernon), Barbara Willie (Antonia), Bernice Scott, all of Suffolk; Brenda Wave (Lee), of Chicago, Ill. One sister preceded him in death, Odel Evans; three brothers, Deacon Johnny Morris (Nora), Edward Morris (Barbara Ann), and the Rev. William Morris (Mildred), all of Suffolk; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, a host of cousins, relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 12 at Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church. Dr. John Jones is officiating. The interment will be held in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
