Police have identified the three Windsor men killed in a three-vehicle crash Saturday night on U.S. 460 in Suffolk.

Justin Russell, 21, his cousin Frank Armstead Manning III, 19, and Samuel Gust, 18, were killed when the 2000 Mustang Russell was driving collided with two other cars. All three were graduates of Windsor High School.

Excessive speed is believed to be a factor.

Just after 7:30 p.m., the three men were traveling west on Pruden Boulevard when they crossed into the east-bound lane to pass a vehicle in front of them. They then sideswiped a Pontiac driven by Phillip Kissinger of Windsor, who was riding with his wife Christen, according to police reports.

At this point, Russell lost control of the car and collided with a Freightliner driven by Trumen Sell, a resident of Benton, Ark. The Mustang was pinned under the tractor-trailer, and the cars weren’t separated for several hours, causing a mile of the road to be shut down.

It was unclear at press time whether the three men were wearing their seatbelts, or if other factors were involved.

Sell and the Kissingers were taken to Obici Hospital and released after being treated for minor injuries.
