Arrest made in porn case

Suffolk police have arrested a Chesapeake man, a former resident of Suffolk, who faces 220 child pornography related charges.

On Monday, a Suffolk grand jury issued indictments against James Edward Haidle, 38, of the 1000 block of Canal Drive in Chesapeake.

He has been charged with six counts of taking indecent liberties with children and 214 counts of producing child pornography when he lived in Suffolk.

These incidents, which occurred in August 2004, involved two 16-year old victims, said Lt. Debbie George, Suffolk Police spokesman.

Haidle is being held in the Western Tidewater Regional Jail. Charges of producing child pornography and indecent liberties are class five felonies, punishable by one to 10 years in the penitentiary and a $2,500 fine.
