All three of Suffolk’s public high schools were represented on the All-Southeastern District First team, which was announced on Friday.

Lakeland’s Katelyn Smither made it as an infielder, as did Nansemond River’s Kelsei Saunders, the First team’s only freshman. Saunders set a school record with six home runs this year. Lady Warrior pitcher Linley Theroux was named among the district’s finest. King’s Fork sophomore Mindy Byrd made the top squad for the second time in the outfield, and LaTonia Gatling joined her.

Lindsay Kelly and Ashley McCord finished out their Lakeland careers by making the Second team, as did Nansemond River infielder Heather Horton. River catcher Ashley Aston got a Second honor, as did outfielder Erika Maynard, designated hitter Colette Butler and utility player Charae Rice. Fork infielder Whitney Holland also made the second team.
