Graduating seniors Lauren Doughtie and LeCardi Johnson were bid farewell with individual awards at the Nansemond-Suffolk Academy golf banquet May 9 at Doughtie’s home.

Doughtie, who plans to attend N.C. State and major in golf management, got the Most Valuable Player award, the first girl in NSA history to do so. She played in every meet in five years of NSA golfing, making the All-TCIS team three times and got five medallist honors this season.

Johnson, who co-captained the team with Doughtie, got the Coach’s Award. A fellow five-year team veteran, he also made the All-TCIS team. He’ll attend Old Dominion University and major in business (and play golf as a walk-on), intending to go into pharmaceutical sales.
