Only able to use a clothes hanger to dial 911 while tied up, a Suffolk store clerk was robbed at gunpoint Thursday morning.

Suffolk Police are looking for a white male who entered Fashion Cents in the 1400 block of North Main Street at about 9:55 a.m. The suspect displayed a handgun, tied the clerk up and left the store with an undisclosed amount of money, said Lt. Debbie George, police spokeswoman.

Later Thursday afternoon, the store was closed.

As employees arrived, friends and co-workers hugged the female victim. The employees and victim declined comment.

Police want to talk to anyone with information on the crime, or if they saw any suspicious activity in the area.

Call the Suffolk Crime Line at 1-888-Lock-U-Up to report information.
