Healing Chapel today

The Healing Chapel Baptist Church, 2375 Godwin Boulevard, will observe its annual Women’s Day activities during the month of July. The theme for 2005 is &uot;What Every Christian Woman Should Know.&uot; Women’s Day will be observed at 3 p.m. today.

Evangelist Debra Joyner of Faith House of Refuse Ministries #1 of Suffolk will be the speaker. Evangelist Joyner is a prayer counselor for the Zeal of Obedience T.V. Ministry. She is the wife of Pastor Bernard Joyner, and the mother of two children. She is the daughter-in-law of Helena Joyner. Youth Day at Laurel Hill

Youth Day will be observed at the Laurel Hill United Church of Christ, 8001 South Quay Road, Suffolk, at 11 a.m. today.

The speaker for the annual observance is Ms. Shinita Monger of Ahoskie, N.C. She is the daughter of Stanley and Ivy Monger Jr. She is also the granddaughter of J.P. and Marcell Faulk of Suffolk and the late Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Monger Sr.

Shinita is a 2001 graduate of Hertford County High School. She is a senior chemistry major at Chowan College in Murfreesboro, N.C. She is a member of Mill Neck Missionary Baptist Church, Como, N.C. The guest soloist for the service is Ms. Ava Artis of

Vacation Bible School
