Minnie Louise Mitchell, of the 1300 block of Deep Creek Blvd., Chesapeake, died June 6, 2005 in Wellstar Cobb Hospital, Austell, Ga. A native of Nansemond County, she was the daughter of the late John and Ada Smith Applewhite and the widow of Leon Mitchell. She was also preceded in death by a son, John Applewhite Sr.

She was the pastor of Good News Home Mission in Chesapeake.

She is survived by a grandson, John Applewhite Jr. of Georgia; three great grandchildren; a sister, Carrie Boyd; a brother, Paul Applewhite of Suffolk; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be held at noon on Saturday, July 11, 2005 in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will assemble at the graveside. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
