The Nansemond River basketball team continued its tradition of victory in the Boo Williams Futures League, winning the Southeastern-Eastern district and snaring second in the league overall, with competition ending this weekend. King’s Fork took fourth in the district, Lakeland sixth. The league is for seventh-, eighth- and ninth-graders.

Andre Jones and Nick Wright, both of whom started for the Warriors’ Southeastern District regular season and tournament champions last season, made the All-Tournament team. Jones averaged 24 points a game, with Wright providing 15 points and 13 rebounds.

After charging to 8-2 in the regular season, the Warriors defeated Bayside and Salem before falling to Green Run in the tournament final last weekend.
