Irene Babb Nelms, 86, of the 700 Babbtown Road, passed away on July 9, 2005, in Seffner, Fla., at the home of Jack and Joan Babb. A native of Nansemond County, she was the daughter of the late Jethro and Emra Byrd Babb. Irene was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, David W. &uot;Tater&uot; Nelms. Mrs. Irene was a member of Cypress Chapel Christian Church, a past Sunday School teacher and a homemaker.

Mrs. Irene is survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Life Path Hospice of Hillsborough for the care and compassion that was given.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2005 in Cypress Chapel Christian Church. The Dr. John Kimball and Dr.Willis Dowling. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Harrell and Hill Funeral Home and at other times at 731 Babbtown Road, Suffolk.
