Mr. Joseph Murray Copeland, 74, of 6024 Mineral Spring Road, Suffolk, died July 13 in Obici Hospital. He was the son of the late Joseph Henry Copeland and Norene Jones Copeland. He retired from Cohen and Powell in New Harvin, Conn.

His survivors include his wife, Lillian C. Copeland of Suffolk; son, Vernon G. Copeland of Suffolk; sisters, Margaret Boone of Portsmouth, Mildred White (Luther) and Martha Moody, both of Suffolk; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2005 in the Crocker Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Wesley Boone. The Interment will be held in the Boothe Family Cemetery in Gates, N.C.
