Katherine Nichole Toscano, daughter of John and Delberta Toscano, is the recipient of the Junto Woman’s Club 2005 $1,000 Education Scholarship.

Katherine was selected as the winner out of eight applications for her desire to pursue her dreams of a higher education.

Katherine is a graduate of Nansemond River High School with a 4.17 GPA and will attend the University of Virginia. Her aim is to be a chemical engineer with emphasis on environmental protection and restoration.

Academic awards include Jefferson Scholar of Nansemond River High, Letter in Academics, Recognized by Who’s Who Among American High School Students, Statewide Beta Convention Science Champion and Award of Excellence Statewide Literature Reflections Contest.

She is employed by the Lakeview Medical Center as a receptionist/registration clerk.

She has been described as exceptional, civic-minded and inspiring.

She has been involved in many school functions and activities along with youth activities at her church, Wesley Chapel.
