Grady Massenburg Jr.

Grady Massenburg Jr. went to be with the Lord and be reunited with loved ones July 19, 2005 in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Nansemond County.

Grady Massenburg Jr. attended Nansemond County Public School System. He was formerly employed at Planters as well as a member of the United States Army. He was predeceased by his parents, Grady Massenburg Sr. and Sarah Ellen Massenburg, both of Southampton County and his son, Jerome Massenburg of Suffolk.

He leaves to cherish fond memories his wife Ethel Harrell Massenburg of Suffolk; one son Grady Massenburg III of Suffolk; two daughters, Sharlene Stevenson and Josephine Bolling of Suffolk; two brothers, Thomas P. Massenburg and Larry Massenburg, both of Suffolk; three sisters, Bernice Dixon (Earnest) of Stafford and Mary Dickens and Paulette Scott, both of Suffolk; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Massenburg and Susie Bennett (Leroy) of Suffolk and Rev. Theresa Massenburg of Richmond; three grandchildren, Sharyl Stevenson, Shequita Stevenson and Kiara Goodman, all of Suffolk; and a devoted family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Homegoing services will be held at noon Saturday, July 23, 2005 at Crocker Funeral Home Chapel at 900 East Washington Street. Bishop Madison G. Copeland will be presiding. Interment services will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome at 724 Nixon Drive.
