Indecent liberty charges certified

A Virginia Beach man accused of molesting a teenage girl in Suffolk was indicted by a grand jury on Monday.

Christopher John Vance, 30, of the 900 block of Colonial Meadows Way was charged with one count of indecent liberties in a custodial relationship.

Vance allegedly molested the 16-year-old at some point between September 2004 and April 2005, said Lt. Debbie George, spokeswoman for the Suffolk Police Department.

The grand jury also indicted two juveniles in unrelated incidents on Monday.

nA 15-year-old was indicted for his role in the March beating of Marvin Jackson, an 18-year-old Newsoms man.

The teenager was charged with conspiracy to commit an felony, malicious wounding, shoo-ting/stabbing/wounding, and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.

A grand jury indicted five other men involved in the attack last April.

According to court records, Jackson was assaulted while visiting a friend’s apartment at 1200 East Washington St. He told police that his assailants repeatedly struck, kicked and hit him with a chair while yelling homosexual slurs.

nThe other suspect, also 15, was charged with the April shooting of a teenager who was standing outside a parked car in the 300 block of West Washington Street, George said. The victim was shot in the leg.

The juvenile was indicted for the using a firearm in the commission of a felony, willfully discharging a firearm in public, malicious wounding and possession/transporting/concealing a firearm by a convicted felon.
