Willie Casper Walker Sr.

Willie Casper Walker Sr. quietly and peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, July 26, 2005. He entered into a haven of eternal rest.

Willie, son of the late John Early and Mattie Snow Walker, was born December 27, 1927 in Suffolk. He accepted Christ at an early age. He was predeceased by three brothers, Benjamin Walker, John Walker, James Walker and three sisters, Addie Lassiter, Laura Edmonds and Dorothy Walker, and his daughter, Patricia J. Walker.

He was educated in Suffolk. After leaving his hometown, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1947.

He attended many schools and received numerous awards during his enlistment. He traveled and was stationed domestically and internationally. He retired after serving 30 years. Late in life, he met and married Pearleen H. Norman.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted wife, Pearleen Walker of Suffolk; one son, Willie C. Walker Jr. (Dwayne) and daughter-in-law, Sabrina Walker of Middle Island, N.Y.; two daughters Willetta M. Wilson of Fredericksburg; Linda Young Davis, M.D. and son-in-law, Donald David of Alexandria; three granddaughters, Danielle Wilson of Fredericksburg, Kieanna Walker Caterisano of Lansdale, Penn., Jada Walker of Middle Island, N.Y.; five grandsons, Jelani Young of Gainesville, Fla., Brandon Walker of Suffolk, Russell Preston Jr. of Archer, Fla. Aaron and Carl Walker of Middle Island, N.Y.; one brother, Roosevelt Walker and sister-in-law, Dorothy Walker of Oak Park, Mich.; two sisters, Annie Green of Suffolk, Mary Whitaker and brother-in-law, David Whitaker Sr. of Suffolk; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2005 in Healing Chapel Baptist Church.

The Rev. Dr. Valentino Lassiter will officiate. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gar-dens.

The family will receive friends today from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in Crocker Funeral Home.
