The Suffolk woman who made national headlines last year for letting her toddler play with a gun was arrested Tuesday for a parole violation related that conviction.

Police arrested Joni M. Allen at her home in the 1300 block of Glen Haven Drive, hours after she was reunited with her two sons. Details on their separation were unavailable.

In an unrelated incident, Allen, 43, was arrested on July 13 and charged with felony child neglect, nearly two weeks after her 4-year-old son fell from a ladder while playing outside unsupervised.

Last year, Allen

and her husband, Robert Allen, each pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor after a neighbor produced a videotape showed their 3 year-old-son playing with a gun.

The incident hit the media spotlight after it was aired on a local television station, resulting in the couple’s appearance on NBC’s Today show.
