holding revival

Eureka Baptist, on Route 32 North in Corapeake, N.C., will be holding revival at 8 p.m. Aug. 7-10. The Rev. Dr. Charles Jones, pastor of Warwick Baptist Church in Chowan County, is guest speaker. Special music will be provided nightly.

A native of Alexandria, Jones was raised on Hatteras Island, N.C. He holds degrees of East Carolina University, Oral Roberts University and Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. For information, call 252-465-8329.

Galatians UCC

revival planned

Galatians United Church of Christ, 2320 Manning Road, is hosting its annual revival Aug. 10-12. Praise and prayer will begin at 7:30 p.m., followed by preaching at 8 p.m. Guest speakers include: Wednesday, the Rev. Linda D.T. Clarke, Union UCC, Norfolk; Thursday, Elder Lewis Knight, RZUA, Victoria; and Friday, the Rev. Dr. Naomi Chambers, Pleasant Union Baptist Church.

The Rev. Dr. Madelene F. Beard is host pastor.

Holy Neck Church

Fall Revival at Pleasant Union this week

Pleasant Union Baptist, 215 Webb St., Suffolk, will hold revival services Aug. 8-11 each night at 7 p.m. Guest pastors and churches include: Monday, Elder Timothy Thomas and New Hope Apostolic Faith Church of God in Williamsburg; Tuesday, the Rev. Eldridge Lucas and Emmanuel Baptist Church of Smithfield; Wednesday, the Rev. Charles Harvin and Macedonia A.M.E. Church of Suffolk; and Thursday, Elder Clarence Goodman and Potter’s House Christian Fellowship Center.

Guest praise teams from Piney Grove Baptist Church, Balm of Gilead Baptist, Mt. Calvary Baptist and Oak Grove Baptist Church will participate throughout the week.

Homecoming

at Mineral Spring

Mineral Spring Baptist Church, 4849 Mineral Spring Road will hold its annual Homecoming service at 3 p.m. Aug. 14. The guest speaker will be Elder Harvey Lewis and the congregation of Green Chapel Number 1 RZUA Church, Broadnax. The 1980 graduating class of John F. Kennedy and the public are invited.
