Scott Miles, 81, of the 800 block of White Marsh Road, died Aug. 6, 2005 in Nansemond Pointe Rehabili-tation and Convalescent Center. A native of Halifax County, N.C., he was the son of the late John and Hattie Jones Mills and the widower of Nancy Lee Mills. He was also preceded in death by one stepson, Robert Anthony Ford, two sisters and four brothers.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from Old Dominion Food Company.

He is survived by three daughters, Barbara Darden and Georgia Dirtion, both of Suffolk, and Sylvia Johnson (William) of Norfolk; one son, Frankie Lewis (Barbara Jean) of Suffolk; two sisters, Lucille Martin and Maude Mills, both of New Jersey; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 11, 2005 in Crocker Funeral Home, conducted by Eldress Gertrude Golden. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
