Healing Chapel Baptist Church at 2375 Godwin Blvd, is having its annual revival Aug. 22-26. The Homecoming service will be Sunday, August 21 at 3:00 p.m., followed by the annual homecoming dinner. Guest minister will be the Rev. C. V.

Russell III and the congregation of St. Paul Baptist Church.

Prayer and Praise service will begin at 7 p.m. each night (local churches will serve) followed by Revival Services at 7:30 p.m. Guest minister for the week will be the Rev. C. C. Carter, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church, Newport News.

Galatians UCC

revival planned

Galatians United Church of Christ, 2320 Manning Road, is hosting its annual revival Aug. 10-12. Praise and prayer will begin at 7:30 p.m., followed by preaching at 8 p.m. Guest speakers include: Wednesday, the Rev. Linda D.T. Clarke, Union UCC, Norfolk; Thursday, Elder Lewis Knight, RZUA, Victoria; and Friday, the Rev. Dr. Naomi Chambers, Pleasant Union Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Madelene F. Beard is host pastor.

Mineral Spring

Mineral Spring Baptist Church, 4849 Mineral Spring Road will hold its annual Homecoming service at 3 p.m. Aug. 14. The guest speaker will be Elder Harvey Lewis and the congregation of Green Chapel Number 1 RZUA Church, Broadnax. The 1980 graduating class of John F. Kennedy and the public are invited.

The church’s annual revival will be from Aug. 16-18. The evangelist will be Charles Leavell, pastor of Balm of Gilead Missionary Baptist Church. Prayer and praise worship service each evening from 7:30 to 8 p.m.
