Frances Underwood Holland, 87, died Aug. 16, 2005, at Lake Prince Woods.

Born June 17, 1918, in Phoebus, she was the daughter of the late Peter T. and Erma Ritter Underwood, widow of Emmett Edward Holland and sister of the late Irma Underwood Jarboe.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Penny H. and George R. Pfeil of Suffolk; her grandchildren, Cynthia P. Geister and Michael C. Pfeil; her great-granddaughters, Ashley M. Pfeil and Brittany L. Geister; her brothers, William C. Underwood of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Thomas G. Underwood of Suffolk; her sisters, Mae Underwood Sheffer and Alice Underwood McGahee, both of Suffolk and several nieces and nephews.

Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at her daughter’s Pine Valley Drive home from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday.
