One arrested, another sought in shooting

A teenager has been arrested in connection with Tuesday’s drive-by shooting that left a 52-year-old Suffolk man fighting for his life, while his alleged accomplice remains at large.

The 16-year-old, who was arrested at his home Wednesday evening, is facing multiple charges related to the shooting of Darryl Bullock.

Bullock, of the 200 block of Second Avenue, was hit in the stomach by a stray bullet around 10 p.m. Tuesday. He is in serious condition in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

The juvenile was charged with one count of using a firearm in the commission of a felony, two counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling, two counts of shooting from a vehicle, one count possession of a firearm by a juvenile, one count reckless handling a firearm and one count discharging a firearm in public, said Lt. Debbie J. George, a

spokeswoman for the Suffolk Police Department.

Police are still looking for a second suspect in the shooting, Latron T. Winnegan, 22, of the 200 block of Holladay Street, George said.

Warrants are on file charging Winnegan with one count of malicious wounding, one count using a firearm in the commission of a felony, two counts of shooting into occupied dwelling, two counts shooting from a vehicle and one count unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
