Shooting suspect turns self in

The man wanted in connection with Tuesday’s drive-by shooting on Second Avenue turned himself into police late Thursday.

Latron T. Winnegan, 22, of the 200 block of Holladay Street showed up at police headquarters around 7 p.m., said Lt. Debbie J. George, spokeswoman for the Suffolk Police Department.

Winnegan was charged with one count each of malicious wounding, using a firearm in the commission of a felony and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and two counts each of shooting from a vehicle and shooting into occupied dwelling.

Winnegan is being held in Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond.

Bullock, who was hit in the stomach by a stray bullet, is being treated at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
