Now, with her mother as the driving force, Joette Claude, might consider offering drive-through financial advice.

Around noon Tuesday, Claude’s mother, Bessie Bond, 69, of the 100 block of Lewis Avenue, accidentally drove her 1987 Volvo into the front of the office at the intersection of Highland Avenue and East Pinner Street.

&uot;I don’t know what happened,&uot; said Bond, taking a few minutes to catch her breath after the incident.

&uot;I just don’t know.&uot;

Claude’s employees, who were working in the front office when the white car plowed through the front window, ran outside after the crash.

&uot;It didn’t scare me for some reason when I hit the glass. I didn’t get scared until the girls came running outside screaming.&uot;

Bond, who is diabetic, didn’t get hurt in the accident. But her children took her to Obici Hospital’s emergency room to be checked out several hours later after she complained of a headache.

The building received approximately $10,000 in damage, said George. Police issued a citation charging Bond with reckless driving/failure to maintain control of her vehicle.

The business day ended a little early at CE&B Financial services, as employees began helping clean up glass and place plywood over gaping holes in the building.

&uot;I’m just glad it’s not tax season right now,&uot; Claude said.
