The man responsible for a string of robberies across southeastern Virginia early this summer is now facing charges in Suffolk.

A grand jury on Wednesday issued indictments charging Frank Eugene Solesbee Jr., 41, of Jarratt with armed robbery, abduction with intent to defile, aggravated sexual battery, burglary tools possession and two counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Solesbee is accused of robbing the clerk of Fashion Cents, a clothing shop on North Main St., at gunpoint on June 2. He reportedly tied up and sexually assaulted the female employee.

The grand jury also indicted:

-Terrance Liamare Holmes, two felony counts of assault and battery of a law enforcement officer;

-Christopher Martin Pecherek, one count each of rape-force threat or intimidation, sodomy and indecent liberties in a custodial relationship

-Pierre L. Wilson, one count of malicious wounding

-The grand jury indicted three Emporia men for the May 2004 robbery of a Suffolk McDonald’s.

Marcellus L. Jones, 45; Thomas Nelson Cribbs IV, 23; and Dexter Carlos Webb, 22, were each charged with one count of robbery, five counts of abduction and six counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Jones was also indicted on one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police arrested the three men in June, after they were linked to the incident from DNA found on burgers they consumed before the crime, said Lt. Debbie George, spokeswoman for the Suffolk Police Department.

According to police, the three went into the eatery in the 1500 block of Holland Road, ordered food and dined while waiting for the business to empty. The men fled the restaurant after robbing it at gunpoint and forcing the employees into a freezer, George said.
