Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Milteer are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Shantia Milteer to Victor L. Hardy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Hardy Sr. of Smithfield.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Linwood Joe and Felton Milteer Sr.,

all of Suffolk, and the late Mrs. Edith Milteer. Miss Milteer is a 1997 graduate of Lakeland High School and a 2001 graduate of Norfolk State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in social work. She is employed by Waverly Healthcare Center as the director of social services.

The groom-to-be is a 1988 graduate of Smithfield High School and a 1994 graduate of the Apprentice School at Newport News Shipbuilding. He is employed as a designer for Northrop Grumman Newport News.

Following a Nov. 19 wedding, the couple will honeymoon in the western Caribbean and will reside in Newport News.
