Red Bird Mission craft fair

Oxford United Methodist Church, 601 W. Washington St., is hosting an Appalachian craft show by Red Bird Mission Crafts from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 10.

Crafts made include handcrafted baskets, woven rugs, cornhusk dolls and flowers, beeswax candles, hand-painted gourds, Christmas ornaments and the like.

Proceeds go to the mission, which is a community outreach initiative of the Methodist church. For information, call 539-5347.

Chapel Grove United

Church of Christ

The pastor and congregation of Chapel Grove United Church of Christ, 7366 W. Blackwater Road, Windsor, is holding its annual fall revival worship service next month. The event starts with the morning worship at 10 a.m. Sept. 4 and continues Sept. 5-7 with nightly services beginning at 7 p.m.

The guest speaker will be the Rev. Bruce McAlister, a pastor, psychologist and educator from Fresno, Calif.

The Homecoming worship service will be at 2 p.m. Sept. 4.

The guest speaker will be the Rev. Wendell Waller and the Christian Home Baptist Church.

Wilroy Baptist anniversary

Wilroy Baptist Church, 306 Williams Road, is celebrating its 45th anniversary on Sept. 11, with activities beginning at 10 a.m. The Rev. Lamar Eiland, a former pastor, will deliver the 11 a.m. sermon. Ebenezer hosts women’s event

Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 1589 Steeple Drive, is hosting a women’s seminar, &uot;Trusting God in the Midst of Your Circumstances,&uot; from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 1. Free food, clothing at Capernaum

Capernaum Seventh Day Adventist, 314 York St., as a Community Service Capernaum will prepare a free dinner every Wednesday night beginning from 4:30 to 6 p.m. On Friday’s, there will be fresh fruit, vegetables and canned goods. Clothes are available on Sundays. Call 934-9814 for more information.

Oxford clothes closet available

As part of Oxford United Methodist’s church’s mission work in the city of Suffolk, the congregation is operating a clothes closet. The program has been running since June 30. Operation hours are from 9 a.m. to noon every Thursday. Hours will expand as the need grows and the closet becomes mores established.

Oxford is partnering with other local churches to meet the growing need in Suffolk. Residents are asked to assist in the following areas: prayer, volunteering, and donations (pick-up is available). To assist, call 434-1405.

Time change at Ararat
