William Phillips West Jr., 54, of Suffolk died Aug. 28, 2005.

Born March 8, 1951, in Suffolk, he was the son of the late Jane Lavelle Horton and William Phillips West Sr. and was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Edward West.

Survivors include his sister, Janet L. Ward and husband Eric of Suffolk; two brothers, Randy H. West of Suffolk, Herbert O. West and wife Penny of Suffolk; five nieces and nephews, Angie and Michael Lane, Tara W. Ungerecht, Alexandra and Owen West; and a great niece, Janie.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the R. W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home and Crematory by the Rev. James Smelley with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
