Judith Catherine Acey, 73, was called home by the Lord Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005. Catherine was born in Chowan County, N.C. Feb. 23, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Joel Calvin Forehand and Sarah Deanie Asbell Forehand McCoy and was the widow of Paul T. Acey.

A homemaker, she had been active with the Diabetic Support Group at Obici Hospital and was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Paula Acey Ridge (Craig) of Virginia Beach, and was predeceased by her brother, J.C. Forehand.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2005 in the Sidney F. Harrell Chapel of Harrell and Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. Jonathan Palmer and the Rev. Michael Brinkley. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery.

Friends may join the family at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening, and at the residence at 111 Palmyra Drive at other times.
