Police are searching for a Sierra Drive man wanted for the shooting of one man and the attempted shooting of another.

Police advise that during the early morning hours of Aug. 25, Darius J. Simmons, 22, shot Arthur Wellons, 19. Simmons allegedly attempted to shoot another suspect, who fled the scene.

Wellons was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, and released Aug. 28.

Simmons is wanted for one count each of malicious wounding and attempted malicious wounding and two counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Simmons, who goes by the nickname Bin Laden, is described as black, 6 foot 1 inch tall and 150 pounds. He is known to frequent the area of Cogic Square Apartments.
