Jennifer L. Lucas and Robert B. Pond, both of Alexandria, are proud to announce their engagement.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Lucas of Chambersburg, Pa. She is the granddaughter of the late Robert and Pauline Barbour and the late Paul and Esther Lucas.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey G. Pond of Smithfield and Mr. and Mrs. David L. Bacon of Virginia Beach. He is the grandson of the late Robert and Sara Williams and the late Richard and Margaret Pond.

Jennifer, a 1999 graduate of Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania, is employed as an information management professional at the Institute for Defense Analyses in Alexandria.

Robert, a 2001 graduate of Old Dominion University, works as an applications analyst at Dental Benefits Provider in Rockville, Md.

The couple will be married Sept. 17, 2005 at First United Methodist Church in Chambersburg. The Rev. Dr. Dianne B. Salter will officiate.
