New First Baptist
New First Baptist Church, 1105 Hosier Road, will celebrate Men’s Day at 3 p.m. Sept. 18. The speaker will be the Rev. Alexander Graham Bell, assistant pastor of Grove Baptist Church. Music will be provided by the Gethsemane Baptist Church’s Male Chorus.
St. Mary’s anniversary

Ebenezer hosts women’s event
Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 1589 Steeple Drive, is hosting a women’s seminar, &uot;Trusting God in the Midst of Your Circumstances,&uot; from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 1. Providence’s fall bazaar
Providence United Methodist Church, 3109 Providence road, is holding its fall bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 8. A group of men from United Full Gospel Revival Suffolk regularly visits male inmates at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail on Saturdays and Sundays. Oxford clothes closet available
As part of Oxford United Methodist’s church’s mission work in the city of Suffolk, the congregation is operating a clothes closet. Operation hours are from 9 a.m. to noon every Thursday. Hours will expand as the need grows and the closet becomes mores established. Oxford is partnering with other local churches to meet the growing need in Suffolk.
